Condolences

Condolence From: David Cross Jr.
Condolence: My deepest sympathies go to the Cormier family in the days ahead. My Uncle Billy will be missed for sure, he was much too young to leave us.

Following the wake, family and friends gathered at the Cormier home. I wanted Kathy, Josh and Adam to know one story which is near and dear to my heart, however, I never got a chance to share it with the family on Saturday. So I would like to share this story here instead.

My mother (Anita) told me many years ago that when I was just 3 months old (December 1960) her brother Billy jumped on a bus to go to the Pensacola, FL area to see me after I was born. Billy would have only been 16.5 years old at that time. I find that amazing that he would be so brave to do that being so young at that time.

My Dad was stationed in the Navy and they had little left over at the end of the month to live on. While in Florida in December, Uncle Billy bought my parents a Christmas tree and a radio to get news from (until they could afford a TV). And he bought my mother her first cast iron frying pan to cook with. My parents were thrilled by his generosity.

As an adult, I can truly appreciate how thoughtful Billy was to come see my mom and dad and his new nephew in Florida and for him buying these gifts for my family.

May you rest in peace Uncle Billy.

Love, David Cross Jr.

Condolence From: Joan Gillis
Condolence: I am so saddened to just hear of Bill's passing. My heart breaks for his wife Kathy (who I adore) and his sons Josh and Adam. I will always and fondly remember Bill as a gentle, highly intelligent and talented man.
Kathy, my thoughts and prayer are with you, Josh and Adam!
